Ghostwriter Voice Profile & Tone Calibration

How to configure your personal tone controls, prohibited terms, and writing samples to maintain authentic communication.

Ghostwriter does not impose a synthetic AI voice onto your communications. Instead, it extracts and mirrors your authentic personal cadence.

---

1. Tone Controls

In your Profile & Voice dashboard, you can configure four core stylistic levers:

  • - Formality: Ranges from conversational and direct (ideal for startup founders) to structured and corporate (for enterprise procurement).
  • Directness: Dictates whether the message gets to the point within the first sentence or includes brief introductory framing.
  • Length: Controls whether drafts default to concise 3-4 sentence check-ins or detailed, comprehensive proposals.
  • Punctuation & Syntax: Preserves your capitalization habits and preferred punctuation cadence.

---

2. Prohibited Words and Clichés

Ghostwriter maintains a global blacklist of AI buzzwords that destroy credibility with decision-makers: - "I hope this email finds you well" - "Revolutionary", "Game-changing", "Disruptive" - "Synergy", "Touch base", "Circle back" - "Delve", "Tapestry", "Crucial", "Paramount"

You can add your own custom prohibited words under Words to Avoid. Any draft generated containing these terms is automatically rewritten during the second-pass critique.

3. Writing Samples

To achieve precise voice matching, paste 2 to 3 examples of real emails or proposals you have authored that secured replies.

The system analyzes: - Sentence length variation. - Transition phrasing and signoff styles. - Paragraph spacing and question frequency.

Your writing samples are stored encrypted with per-user Row-Level Security and are never shared across users or used to train external public foundation models.
