Gate FAQ

Common operational, policy, and integration questions about Gate.

What is Gate?

Gate is a policy, approval, and audit layer for software agents with real-world permissions. It enforces deterministic policies, real-time human approval, and cryptographic audit chains before agents can execute actions.

Does Gate run agent prompts or chains?

No. Gate is not an orchestration framework like LangChain or AutoGen. Gate sits between your agent runtime and external systems, evaluating proposed tool calls and actions.

How does Gate prevent prompt injection?

Gate does not attempt probabilistic conversational filtering. Instead, it evaluates the final tool call and parameters against strict deterministic rules, budget limits, and human approval policies regardless of what prompt was generated.

Is Gate live in production?

Yes. Gate is currently live in production and onboarding engineering teams running autonomous agents with real-world credentials. Early deployment access can be requested at `sonnev.com#access` or through our contact form.

Does Gate introduce noticeable latency?

Gate is designed as a latency-neutral gateway with sub-millisecond pass-through on approved requests via edge evaluation. TODO(afx): Add self-hosted enterprise deployment pricing tiers and cloud SLA thresholds.
